After an enormously successful and very enjoyable evening back in February, it was obvious that some of you can’t wait to get all competitive and pretend you are far smarter than you really are… so we thought we’d put you out of your misery and arrange another quiz night for November. Don’t worry, if you’re not the fiercely competitive type, you can still come along and enjoy a very good fun, relaxed evening with a few friends.

The quiz is a team event with numbers limited to 8 people in a team (and a maximum of 16 teams). So, round up your friends and relatives and list their names on the booking form - click here to download. Alternatively, if you can’t get people together to make up a team, don’t worry, we’ll find a team for you on the night.

Your quiz masters are Earl Withers and David James who aim to get you thinking with a range of music, entertainment, sport and general knowledge questions.

The cost of the evening is £10.00 per person which includes a curry supper with vegetarian option. Please indicate your food option on the booking form.

Please also note that there will be a licensed bar selling beers, wines and soft drinks and, as the aim of the event is to raise as much money as possible for our schools, we would ask you not to bring your own bottles…

We would like to invite and encourage as many as possible to attend this meeting to hear about the important fundraising work that the Friends do and the huge contribution they make to both schools to help enrich the children’s education.

The AGM will be a great opportunity for you to see how you could help and become involved in the Friends work and see what great satisfaction and enjoyment can be gained from being part of the Friends committee.

Being a Committee member of the Friends is not an arduous task. We meet once a month on a Monday evening for a couple of hours.  At these meetings we primarily review the success of past events, plan the future events, and discuss applications for funding from the Schools or the Governors.

We are really thrilled that Father Christmas will be coming, having made a special effort and taken the time out of his really busy schedule to come and meet the children in his Grotto…

All the usual stalls will be there:

Books
Cakes
Tombolas
Raffles
Wine or Water
Cake Decorating
Face Painting
Crafts
Refreshments
Games
White Elephant
Playstations
etc.

There will be refreshments, bacon buttys and mulled wine too.

…and, as always, we rely almost entirely on your donations, support, generosity and help to prepare and run the day, ensuring its success and that the children have a magical time!

We have organised an educational, and hopeful very enjoyable night, in association with Laithwaites.

This will be held at the Infant School from 8.00pm, and your entrance fee of £12.50 will entitle you to taste 3 white wines, 4 red wines and a sparkling wine, as well as to chat and share some cheese/biscuits/nibbles in good company…

If you enjoy these wines, there will be an opportunity to purchase if you wish, otherwise, please just come along, either on your own or with a group of friends, and enjoy yourselves.

We would suggest you do not plan to drive home!

Orders for these calendars can be made by downloading an order form (below), completing it and returning it, with a cheque for the appropriate amount made out to FSAS, to either school office.

They are fantastic quality, have been specially designed for us, and are amazing value at just £6.50 each, or if you order more than one, they are just £12.50 for 2 calendars, £18.00 for 3 calendars, or £5.75 each for orders of 4 or more!

As well as individual self-portraits drawn by all the children, we have also commissioned some portraits of the Infant and Junior School Staff…

The calendars will also conatin important school dates (terms starts and ends, half terms, inset days etc.). They will also include special Friends dates - Summer Fayre, Christmas Bazaar etc.
